Optimal Browser Settings

Supported Browsers

Corporate Focus is compatible with the following browsers. Note, we recommend updating to
the latest version of your browser to have the best experience with Corporate Focus.

Browser Comments
Microsoft Internet Explorer Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher is supported for
all users.
Mozilla Firefox Firefox is supported for all users.
Google Chrome Chrome is supported for all users. Chrome updates automatically and we make every effort to test and support the most recent version.
Apple Safari Safari is supported for read-only users. Full-Access users will be limited to read-only access when logged in using Safari.

Adding Corporate Focus to Trusted Sites

Prior to using Corporate Focus, please make sure that the application has been added as a trusted site in Internet Explorer’s Internet Options menu. If you cannot access the Internet Options menu, please contact your IT department to have them make the change for you. Otherwise, please follow these steps to add the application as a trusted site:

  1. In a browser window, select Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Select the Trusted sites icon and then click the Sites button.
  4. Add the following web addresses:
    • https://[customer].corporatefocus.net
    • https://www.corporatefocus2.net
    • http://webhelp.corporatefocus.net
  5. Click the Close button.
  6. Click OK.

Note: [Customer] is your specific site. When you log into Corporate Focus, look in the address bar to get the text you use in place of [customer].

Trusted Sites

Trusted Site Settings

Once the application has been added as a trusted site, please check to see if the trusted sites are configured properly:

  1. In a browser window, select Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Select the Trusted sites icon and then click the Custom level… button.
  4. Confirm the following settings:
    • Downloads Section
      • Auto-prompting for file downloads is enabled
      • File download is enabled
    • Miscellaneous Section
      • Access data sources across domains is enabled
      • Allow websites to open windows without address or status bars is enabled
      • Include local directory path when uploading files to a server is enabled
    • Scripting Section
      • Active scripting is enabled
      • Enable XSS filter is disabled

Disabling Pop-Up Blockers

Blocking pop-ups from untrusted sites is a preferred setting, but if not configured correctly, pop-ups from trusted sites are also blocked. To operate effectively you need to adjust your browser to allow pop-ups from Corporate Focus:

  1. In a browser window, select Tools > Pop-up BlockerPop-up Blocker Settings.
  2. In the field Address of website to allow enter https://[customer].corporatefocus.net and then click Add.
  3. Click Close.

If you are using a third party pop-up blocker, such as Yahoo! toolbar or Google toolbar, they too need to be adjusted or disabled. Instructions for adjusting the Yahoo! toolbar and Google toolbar are outlined below. Any other pop-up blocker that is being used may need to be adjusted before you can use Corporate Focus.

Yahoo! Toolbar Pop-Up Blocker

If you are using the Yahoo! toolbar but have not manually added the Pop-Up Blocker app, then no change is needed. If you did add Pop-Up Blocker app:

  1. In your browser, navigate to your Corporate log in screen.
  2. Enter your user name and password and then click Log In.
  3. In the Toolbar, select the arrow next to the pop-up blocker button and
    then choose Always allow pop-ups from…
  4. Select [customer].corporatefocus.net and then click Allow.
  5. Refresh your browser and then try logging in again.

Google Toolbar

  1. In your browser, navigate to your Corporate log in screen. Do not log in.
  2. On the Google Toolbar, select the arrow next to the pop-up blocker button and
    choose Always allow pop-ups from [customer].corporatefocus.net.
  3. Refresh your browser and then try logging in again.

Clearing Temporary Internet Files – Cache

In principal, it is a good idea to clear your Temporary Internet Files (cache) at least every few weeks. Whenever a new release of Corporate Focus is made available, clearing your cache ensures that the application will not have any issues. To clear your cache:

Internet Explorer 9

  1. In a browser window, select Tools > Safety > Delete browsing history.
  2. Uncheck Preserve Favorites website data.
  3. Check both Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.
  4. Click Delete.

Internet Explorer 8

  1. In a browser window, select Tools > Internet Options.
  2. On the Internet Options pop-up under the Browsing history section, click the Delete button.
  3. Select Temporary Internet Files and Cookies. Before clicking delete make sure that the Preserve Favorites checkbox is not selected.
  4. Click Delete.

Internet Explorer 7

  1. In a browser window, select Tools > Internet Options.
  2. On the Internet Options pop-up under the Browsing history section, click the Delete button.
  3. Under the Temporary Internet Files section click the Delete files button.
  4. Click the Delete cookies button under the Cookies section.

Speed and Performance

If load times and saves are taking longer than usual, please check your browser settings for optimal speed performance:

  1. In a browser window, select Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Under the General tab’s Browsing History section, click Settings.
  3. Make sure that Check for newer versions of stored pages is set to Automatically.
  4. Set the Disk space to use to 50MB.
  5. Click OK.

Compatibility View – Self Hosted Customers Only

If your version of Corporate Focus is maintained internally by your IT Department, you need to turn off the setting for displaying intranet sites in compatibility view before you can log in (Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9 Only).

  1. In a browser window, select Tools > Compatibility View Settings.
  2. On the Compatibility View Settings pop-up, make sure that the option to
    Display intranet sites in Compatibility View is not selected.
  3. Click Close.
