Over 700 business leaders and employee ownership and equity professionals will gather April 22nd-24th in Portland, Oregon, for the event. Wright will be co-moderating the “Accounting for Equity Compensation” discussion on Wed. April 22nd at 1:45 pm – 3:00 pm. More specifically, he will be speaking on best practices private companies can follow when implementing equity compensation reporting under FAS 123R.

“Non-public companies face many hurdles in their equity compensation reporting and accounting processes, including different determinations for the key inputs under the Black-Scholes formula, the complexities of amortizing the resulting fair value, and the struggle with complicated spreadsheets,” said Wright. “I hope to give attendees a clear understanding of how to value and expense their stock options, the challenges inherent in this process, and how to use the latest technology to help solve these issues.”

Wright will be joined by industry experts Barbara Baksa, Executive Director of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals, and Wil Becker, Managing Director of Chartwell Capital Solutions. Together, the panel will present best practices for the accounting treatment of stock options, with emphasis on Black-Scholes, determination of variables, and the newest tools to simplify the administration and reporting of equity compensation.
